Energy Ministry releases September 2026 generator schedule
The Ministry of Energy and Water in Lebanon has announced a new tariff for private electricity generators for September 2026. The fair rate has been set at 52,840 Lebanese pounds per kilowatt-hour for subscribers in cities and densely populated areas, and 58,124 pounds for those in villages and higher-altitude regions. This tariff is based on an average diesel price per tank of 2,675,217 pounds, including operating costs and profits, and is subject to adjustments in response to exchange rate fluctuations and the economic situation. The ministry has called on generator owners to adhere to the set prices and refrain from imposing illegal charges or fees on solar energy devices. Strict oversight will be enforced to ensure proper implementation.
