Jumana Silalaté on House Rules Violations
The article discusses Jumana Silletati's criticism in "The Government Observatory" regarding the Lebanese Parliament's violations of its internal regulations, particularly concerning oversight and accountability mechanisms. She pointed out that the parliament is hindering government interrogations and violating constitutional procedures, as it has not included questions and answers in the agenda of sessions as stipulated by the regulations. This weakens the oversight role and threatens the principle of accountability. She called for strict adherence to the internal regulations to ensure the parliament's effectiveness and to respect its role as a safeguard for opposition and a means to hold the executive branch accountable. She emphasized that fair application of laws is the way to preserve the idea of accountability and citizens' rights.
