Labor unions submit wage and rights request
The article focused on the efforts of the Lebanese Federation of Workers and Employees' Unions to raise financial and social demands in response to the official policies ignoring the economic crisis. The union, in an official memorandum, called for a comprehensive correction of wages, raising the minimum to the equivalent of $1,500, implementing a flexible wage scale that adjusts to changing prices, and ensuring transparent and direct payments of transportation allowances and family benefits. It also emphasized the need to address the conditions of daily workers and the unemployed, safeguarding their rights without bargaining or reductions, and called for increased regulatory measures to control prices and protect the impoverished classes from the effects of inflation.
