Saudi Arabia targets Houthis to end Red Sea blockade
Reports indicate that Saudi Arabia is planning an operation against the Houthi movement in Yemen, led by Yemeni forces supported by Saudi backing, with the aim of stopping the recent gains made by the Houthis along the coast and their control over the Bab al-Mandab Strait. Preparations include potential land and air strikes in the coming weeks, with the possibility of deploying over 100,000 Yemeni troops and conducting limited or extensive strikes on multiple fronts in al-Bayda, Marib, Taiz, and al-Jawf. The operation's goal is to restore the strategic balance in the Red Sea and secure the international shipping route.
