Houthis and coalition escalate with rockets and strikes
The Saudi-led coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen reported destroying a ballistic missile platform in Sanaa that was preparing to launch an attack toward Saudi Arabia, in addition to intercepting and destroying several missiles launched toward Riyadh and Khamis Mushait. For its part, the Houthis launched a ballistic missile at King Khalid Airport in Riyadh, confirming that it hit its target, which caused disruptions in airport operations. Civil Defense also recorded material damages due to missile shrapnel in Riyadh. The coalition also carried out airstrikes on several Yemeni governorates. The escalation has led to increased tensions between the two sides, with ongoing reciprocal operations and attacks, amid concerns about the expansion of the conflict.
