President Aoun on sectarian tension

Lebanese President Michel Aoun's statements highlighted the issue of fueling sectarian and denominational tensions to serve personal interests at the expense of the homeland, with accusations directed at some parties of collaborating with foreign entities against the Lebanese people. He emphasized that Lebanon's objectives in negotiations are to end the Israeli occupation, free the detainees, facilitate the return of displaced persons, and carry out reconstruction, acknowledging that there are differing approaches to achieve these goals. He pointed out that ongoing war leads to destruction and casualties, and that rebuilding trust between the people and the state, as well as national unity, are fundamental. At the same time, he recognized progress in economic and administrative reforms. He also stressed the importance of understanding between Muslims and Christians for Lebanon's stability, despite the continued political and security challenges facing the country.
