MTV releases Cabinet session minutes on explosives file
The Lebanese Council of Ministers session, held at Baabda Palace and chaired by President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nohad Machnouk, discussed the explosive Hezbollah weapons managed in the Zahle area. The deliberations lasted approximately four hours. An agreement was reached to postpone referring the matter to the Judicial Council in order to complete investigations and determine responsibilities, aiming to prevent political escalation and preserve civil peace. The Prime Minister emphasized the rejection of weapons storage outside legitimate authorities and warned of the dangers this poses to security. Meanwhile, the Lebanese Forces ministers expressed their opposition to the understanding, considering that the dispute over arms remains unresolved, amid ongoing political pressure and uncertainties surrounding the future of the investigations.
