1,147 Customs Seizures
Saudi Arabia’s land, sea and air customs ports recorded 1,147 seizures of prohibited items in one week, as part of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority’s efforts to strengthen oversight and combat smuggling. The seizures included 48 types of narcotic substances, 270 types of prohibited goods, 839 types of tobacco and tobacco products, and nine cases involving cash. The Authority urged the public to report smuggling by calling 1910, affirming that reports would be kept confidential and that financial rewards may be offered for valid information.
