Unexpected historic runs by World Cup clubs
Throughout World Cup history, several humorous incidents have involved players wearing jerseys from local clubs that were not officially participating in the tournament. These situations often arose due to exceptional circumstances, leading to spontaneous use of school and club jerseys. For example, Napoli jerseys appeared in the 1934 World Cup, organizers of the 1978 World Cup used jerseys from the Argentine club Kimberley, and a Mexican player wore a Cruzeiro jersey from Brazil in the 1954 World Cup. These instances reflect the simplicity in managing tournaments during those early decades.
