The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, in collaboration with UNICEF, has launched the integrated social protection program, “+Cash” (Enhanced Cash Assistance with Services), with the aim of supporting over 41,000 families, totaling approximately 208,000 individuals, across 11 Syrian governorates. The program particularly targets families with children facing challenging economic circumstances. It links cash assistance with health, nutrition, education, and protection services, aiming to address aspects of poverty and improve the national social protection system, with a focus on protecting children from school dropout, malnutrition, and child labor. Families are registered based on specific criteria, and the assistance is disbursed through financial service providers, ensuring data confidentiality. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to develop a comprehensive national social protection system in Syria.
