Nursing and technical staff at Idlib University Hospital staged a protest demanding improved working conditions and the settlement of their financial dues. The demonstration took place on Sunday, September 6, 2026, organized by the staff. Their main demands include compensation for overtime hours worked in recent months, the implementation of a 36-hour weekly shift system, better organization of leave schedules, and addressing the staffing shortages that increase the workload. The protesters emphasized that their strike aims to initiate an official and transparent dialogue with the relevant authorities to secure their rights. They also stated that their return to work depends on the fulfillment of clear commitments and the documentation of their entitlements, ensuring workers' rights and improving the working environment without compromising the quality of healthcare services provided to patients.
