France sees record detainees and injuries amid protests
France has experienced an unprecedented surge in arrests and injuries resulting from school protests. Authorities have detained around 1,949 people, most of whom are accused of attacking police officers. Additionally, 305 security personnel have been injured during a widespread wave of violence that has continued until today. About 400 schools have been closed, and classes have shifted to remote learning, while students face issues related to crowded classrooms and a shortage of teachers. The protests are intensifying, including peaceful demonstrations as well as acts of violence and vandalism against public infrastructure. The government has been called to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the worsening crisis.
