Kasserine Hail Damages Crops

The heavy rains combined with hail that occurred in the regions of Sbeiba, Sbeitla, and Jdalian in Kasserine Governorate on Friday evening caused widespread damage to olive groves, vegetables, and fruit trees. The damage ranged between 50% and 70%, with over 70% of the olive production in Sbeiba affected. Farmers are now worried about the impact of these weather fluctuations on the current season. There is an urgent need for quick intervention to treat the trees and an emphasis on the importance of joining the compensation fund to recover their losses. Farmers confirmed the extent of the damage caused by the exceptional hail and rain.
