Legal Affairs GM joins Human Rights Commission
The elections within the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation resulted in the election of Kamel bin Hussein, the Director General for Legal Affairs at the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as a member of the OIC's Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission. This election took place during the 52nd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers held in Baghdad in October 2026. It reflects an effort to strengthen the presence of Tunisian expertise and to contribute to supporting human rights and joint Islamic work. The commission functions as an advisory body in studying human rights issues and providing recommendations, with the aim of enhancing cooperation among member states and exchanging expertise.
