Captain Details Damietta Port Attack
The Damietta Port in Damietta Governorate, Egypt, was hit by a fierce attack using a drone targeting two gas transportation ships, resulting in large fires on the vessels "Gaszlog Salem" and "Energos Winter." Two captains managed to extinguish the fires before a catastrophic explosion could occur, indicating that the attack on the ships could have led to a broader disaster affecting the port and the surrounding residential area. No party has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, and an investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators. Amidst increasing uncertainty and concern, Egyptian authorities have emphasized that they do not intend to engage in a war in the Middle East and that the investigation will clarify the circumstances.
