The situation in the Blue Nile region has focused on a slowdown in the intense fighting, with limited clashes continuing and both sides testing each other's defenses. Despite the Sudanese army achieving gains during July battles and recapturing important towns such as Barra, Jabra Sheikh, and Um Sialia, as well as strengthening supply lines and linking the city of White Nile to the capital, the area has also seen drone strikes, including reports of an attack on White Nile Airport. This indicates an increased reliance on drones in military operations, although no official statements have been issued. Military movements are ongoing, with reinforcements arriving for both Rapid Support Forces and the army, raising the possibility of escalation. The overall scene appears relatively calm on the surface but remains fraught with the potential for another flare-up, as aerial battles and mutual targeting continue.
