Huawei releases Mate 90 and advances local chips
Huawei Technologies has launched its new "Mate 90" smartphone amid strict American restrictions on the supply of advanced semiconductors. This move motivates the company to develop alternative processors and technologies to enhance performance. The release aims to test the company's ability to continue innovating despite limited production of advanced chips, relying on the "Kirin 9050 Pro" processor and "Logic Folding" technology, along with its own operating system, "HarmonyOS 7," which supports over 450,000 applications. The "Mate 90 Pro Max" features a 31% performance increase compared to the previous generation. However, the prices of its phones are rising due to increased component costs, which impacts profit margins.
