Satellite images show Gaza after 3 years of war
Satellite images taken in June reveal the extent of the destruction that has ravaged wide areas of Gaza, more than three years after the war. Approximately 82% of the sector's buildings have been damaged, amounting to about 200,000 structures, with significant damage to homes, commercial facilities, and public utilities. Urban areas have been reduced to heaps of rubble. These damages have occurred despite the ceasefire, as the percentage of destroyed buildings has increased by about 9% since the ceasefire in October 2025. Over 61 million tons of debris have accumulated, and bodies remain buried under the rubble, further worsening the humanitarian crises in the area, which is home to more than 2.1 million internally displaced persons living in camps and temporary shelters.
