Sudan RSF Drone Attack Kills 5
The Sudanese army, led by the Rapid Support Forces, launched a drone attack on a student residence at the University of El Fashir in El Fashir city, the capital of North Darfur State, resulting in the death of five people and injuries to 47 others. The Sudan Doctors Network condemned this attack, expressing concern over the targeting of residential neighborhoods and educational facilities, describing it as a serious violation of international humanitarian law that threatens civilians' lives. They also called for holding those responsible accountable and supporting urgent medical responses for the wounded, but the Rapid Support Forces did not issue any comment. The attack comes amidst escalating conflicts in Darfur and Kordofan regions, where Sudan has been embroiled in ongoing war since April 2023 between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, leading to tens of thousands of deaths and the displacement of approximately 13 million people.
