Kuwait shuts Iranian school permanently

The Kuwaiti authorities have closed a private Iranian school based on a decision by the Minister of Education, Mr. Jallal Al-Tabtabai, which mandates the final revocation of its license and prohibits the acceptance of new students starting from the 2026/2027 academic year. This step aims to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and to protect the public interest. The decision is part of the government's efforts to maintain stability in the educational process and enforce regulations. It also involves informing parents to transfer their children to other schools to avoid disruption to their education. The move comes amid escalating regional tensions, particularly with repeated missile and drone attacks targeting Kuwaiti territory carried out by Iranian and Iraqi sources since the outbreak of the war between the United States and Iran last February, thereby increasing pressures on national security.
