Syrian engineering teams have removed landmines from agricultural lands around Brigade 12 in Daraa to eliminate the dangers they pose to civilians, as part of the Syrian government's efforts to clear war remnants. Since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Defense has dismantled and destroyed around 110,000 mines and war remnants, with these demining efforts resulting in the death of 50 members of the engineering unit. Reports indicate that the latest clearance operation took place in the city of Qaraa in Rural Damascus, where approximately 1,500 landmines were removed. Meanwhile, the United Nations has warned that these remnants continue to threaten individuals, especially children, as explosions caused by war leftovers during the past week resulted in 9 deaths and 13 injuries.
