Lawyers for Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota accused federal authorities of violating legal procedures and constitutional guarantees during the raid on her Washington residence, as part of investigations related to her family's immigration from Somalia. The attorneys pointed out that the search was conducted without adhering to the procedures set by a judge, and described the raid as a political attack threatening Omar's constitutional rights, especially after she was prevented from communicating with legal counsel during the operation. The seized evidence includes documents, a phone, and a passport. Meanwhile, the court continues to examine the legality of the evidence and procedures, calling for a fair trial and emphasizing the need to avoid politicization in the investigations.
